Spend two days immersed in the Okefenokee, paddling through blackwater trails and cypress forests, spending the night deep inside the refuge, and waking up somewhere most people will never experience.

This is a small group, full guided adventure designed to take the stress out of wilderness camping. We handle the route, gear, meals, permits and logistics so you can focus on being there.

Dates: October 17 & 18, 2026

Launch Location: Suwanee Canal Recreational Area

Trip Length: Two days and one night

Experience level: Beginner-friendly. Guests should be comfortable paddling for several hours.

Group size: Maximum of 6 guests

Trip includes:

  • Kayak or canoe rental

  • Paddle and PFD

  • Camping equipment

  • Meals

  • Dry bag

  • Wilderness camping permits

  • Trip planning

  • Paddling instruction

  • Experienced guides

  • Emergency communication equipment

NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE?

Good. You do not need to be an expert kayaker or experienced paddle camper. We teach you what you need to know, help with camp setup, keep the pace comfortable and stay with you throughout the entire experience.

Guests should be comfortable being outdoors and paddling for several hours, but you do not need specialized wilderness experience.

SAMPLE ITINERARY

SATURDAY

  • Meet at Okefenokee State Park

  • Pack boats and review safety

  • Paddle into the refuge

  • Wildlife viewing along the way

  • Arrive at our wilderness campsite

  • Set up camp and enjoy dinner

  • Watch the Okefenokee settle into darkness

SUNDAY

  • Wake up in the wilderness

  • Breakfast at camp

  • Morning paddle through the refuge

  • Continue exploring on the return route

  • Arrive back at the launch with on heck of a story
